Dillon's Biography
Dillon's Place was created to honor the life and legacy of Dillon Franciscus. Dillon was driven by the principles of loyalty, honor and respect. From a very young age he told everyone who would listen that he wanted to be a Marine. He also loved football, weightlifting, comedy, karaoke and dogs. He was strong and kind at the same time.
Dillon thrived in a team surrounding, both sacrificing for and encouraging his teammates. He willingly shouldered the burdens of his teammates in life and on the field. He attended St. Edward's High School in Lakewood, OH and was part of the 2019 St. Edward's High School State Championship football team.
Dillon enlisted in the Marines right after High School. In the Marines, he was an infantryman. In 2021, he was deployed to Afghanistan and took part in Operation Allies Refuge. He, alongside hundreds of his brothers and sisters, evacuated the Kabul airport, saving hundreds of lives under unimaginably difficult circumstances.

Yet Dillon, like so many veterans that preceded him, never complained. He did his duty and we, as well as those he rescued, reap the benefit of those that sacrificed as he did.
"Our task is to carry Dillon's steely character forward by never giving up on our veterans. To give them hope that, after the enlisted duties and combat missions are over, their place in the civilian world is just as important and valued as it was when they were in active duty."
